My goal in life is to create useful environmental documents. (See last paragraph for my current projects.)I've worked as an environmental communicator for over twenty years. I got my B.A. in Environmental Communications (sometimes I call it a B.A. in Technical Communications). I've written, edited, copyedited, proofread, and helped writers organize their writing for more than 25 years. And I enjoy all of it.I also have ten years' experience as a hazardous waste inspector.Specialties: Technical writing, technical editing, copyediting, proofreading, indexing. Consensus building and facilitation.I'm currently working as assistant editor (copyeditor and proofreader) on the Pacific Birds Long-Term Wetlands Plan 2024-2034.My previous project, completed this month, is serving as assistant editor on the Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture Plan. This plan includes 70-plus Hawaiian wetlands characterizations, and the total study comes to 374 pages.Previous to that project, I have been working as an assistant editor to the Washington Connected Landscapes Project: Cascades to Coast Analysis, a joint venture of the Washington Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Working Group (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, United States Forest Service, Washington Conservation Science, and others). I again was a "preparer" (copyeditor) on the study and five connected habitat connectivity studies (aka "Focal Species' Accounts") for: western gray squirrel, Pacific fisher, American beaver, mountain beaver, and cougar. When completed, it may be close to 300 pages too.
