Perviously served as Complex Hotel Manager of the Westin Kansas City and Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center, a multi-branded Complex existing of 1458 guest rooms and 155,000 sq. feet of meeting and function space. Coordinated the conversion of the Sheraton from a Hyatt Hotel and oversaw the renovation of Guest rooms, lobby, Fitness center, Front drive, and Restaurant/bar as well as all Capital improvements for both properties. Prior to Kansas City, I held the position of Hotel Manager at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. A 1231 room Convention property in the heart of downtown Denver. During my tenure at this property I oversaw the hotel conversion from a defunct Adam’s Mark brand to a top of the industry Sheraton Convention Collection property. During this conversion I managed a $70 million renovation, touching all areas of the hotel including a state of the art fitness center, meeting facilities and parking structure. I was charged with the task of implementing all of Starwood’s Brand standards, Culture and Core Values while maintaining revenue growth and increasing margins. Before Denver, I was the Director of Operations for the Sheraton Overland Park. A beautiful 412 room Convention, business property located in Overland Park, Kansas a suburb of Kansas City. Overseeing the operations of the hotel and fostering owner relations. The hotel was recognized for its outstanding customer service, GSI scores (guest satisfaction index) and MPSI scores (meeting planner satisfaction index). I was asked to perform the duties as the Area Director of Food and Beverage, Southwest Region for Starwood Hotels & Resort where I oversaw the revenue growth, margin performance and overall Food & Beverage operation of 32 Starwood properties ranging from a 750 room Golf Resort to a 173 luxury ski resort. During my time in Kansas City, Mr. Cassell served as President of the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association and held a Board of Director position for 6 years.
