Software Engineer Iii
I was responsible for integrating essential backend features using an open-source CMS solution. This included announcements, news articles, search features, custom landing pages, and content categorization, utilizing advanced IT tools and technologies. One of my key achievements was architecting a personnel data API for the U.S. Space Force. This involved TypeScript, Apollo Server, Docker, S3, and ECS, deployed on Air Force Cloud One.I optimized our CI/CD pipeline testing by modernizing GitHub Actions workflows for end-to-end testing across multiple repositories.Ensuring accessibility standards were strictly adhered to during feature development was crucial, maintaining continuous Section 508 compliance.I planned and organized detailed security inspections, identified Apollo configuration discrepancies, and formulated a remediation blueprint to mitigate the potential abuse of GraphQL APIs and configuration errors.Additionally, I co-created user-requested features and contributed to the ReactUSWDS open-source library. I performed code evaluations and provided mentorship to help elevate the team’s performance. Some of my selected contributions are:• Achieved 92% code coverage, establishing an automated testing pipeline for unit and integration assessments.• Collaborated with a cross-functional team in developing a web platform, resulting in an 82% user adoption rate, consolidating Space Force information sources.• Deployed a custom API by integrating a member directory into the Space Force app, enhancing efficient contact and resource access.• Secured Public Trust clearance and obtained CompTIA Security+ certification.• Created the U.S. Space Force’s open-source application hub for news and announcements using TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, Apollo Client, MongoDB, SCSS, Playwright, Docker, and AWS deployment in Air Force Cloud One.
