Provide storage infrastructure services to customers of Dell Services, including companies in health care (Dignity Healthcare, Northern Arizona Healthcare) and financial services (Russell Investment Group, Moody’s Investors Service), among others. Services provided include design, configuration, implementation, management and troubleshooting of storage area networks and network attached storage appliances. Perform detailed planning of migrations to migrate data between old and new storage frames, as well as migrations as part of an overall data center migration strategy. Extensive customer facing travel throughout US to design and implement hardware installations. Engaged in performance troubleshooting to identify potential bottlenecks within storage frames and fabrics. Responsible for enterprise storage architecture, implementation, and support. Provide operational management, troubleshooting and tuning of storage platforms comprised of EMC and Netapp storage arrays, and Cisco fiber channel and multilayer FCIP switches. Ensure data is replicated from production data centers to DR sites and that recovery point objective timelines are met. Perform data migrations between storage frames to migrate data to newer arrays and better manage storage capacity on existing frames. Implement NAS storage solutions via CIFS and NFS. Implement and support enterprise backups utilizing tools including EMC Timefinder Mirror/Snap/Clone, Netbackup, and Netapp Snapshots.

Responsible for enterprise systems and storage architecture, implementation, and support. Install and support Sun hardware and Solaris operating environment. Design and implement enterprise storage area networks in multiple data centers. Networks are composed of Brocade switches, Hitachi NSC55, EMC Symmetrix DMX3-950s, and Clarion CX300, CX400, CX500, CX700 and CX3-20. Took lead in project to replace older Symmetrix storage arrays. Engaged multiple vendors to facilitate competitive bids, and was primary resource in implementing newly purchased arrays, including ensuring power requirements were met, san infrastructure was upgraded, and hosts were migrated to new storage units with a minimum of downtime. This project resulted in a savings of $3 million dollars in operational expenses over a 3-year period. Implement fast backup/recovery using EMC Timefinder and Hitachi Shadowimage, enabling recovery of multi terabyte systems in a matter of minutes. Designed and implemented highly available applications and databases utilizing storage area network, Sunfire 15K and 12K enterprise servers, and Veritas Cluster Server. Administered enterprise data warehouse consisting of Sunfire 6800 and 20 TB of SAN attached storage. Responsible for acquisition and installation of HP 9000 platform. Interface with vendors and technical personnel from Hewlett Packard, EMC, Sun Microsystems and various consulting firms for hardware purchasing and support needs. Work with technical consultants on long term projects implementing applications in a highly available configuration. Implement, maintain and support applications utilizing MC/ServiceGuard designed to insure maximum application up time.
