This integration is the cornerstone of Ibis Tek's link-aware applications; it allows for improved distance and robustness of the iWDL4860 radio.• Evaluated and deployed a Linux based OS and build system for the iWDL4860 radio. The framework serves as the basis for all advanced features of the radio, including digital IO, RS232 bridging, and hooks for link-aware applications.• Developed software and influenced hardware for a non-RF optical voice communication system. The system utilized CAN bus and was responsible for communicating with all sensors and controlling related subsystems.• Integrated a navigation and path-tracking subsystem for BAE Systems’s Black Knight prototype unmanned ground vehicle. This system allowed for autonomous playback of previously driven routes as well as provided the basis for the perception system to plan paths and control the vehicle’s movement.• Implemented a MS Access database to manage the vehicle software parameters and automatically created C code for use by the vehicle control system. This database allowed for rapid redeployment of the vehicle controller and reduced build time by nearly fifty percent.
