In this role, I designed the companies Azure Tenancy, Confluent Cloud Tenancy and Analytics platform. I presented architectural designs and decisions to the architecture governance board while estimating prices and tracking Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework and Well Architected Framework. I peer reviewed designs by other architects for services hosted in cloud and served as focal point of contact for Microsoft Azure team. I monitored the implementation of management groups and subscriptions, network topology and connectivity as well as proactive security measures. I was instrumental is standing up the analytics platform which was based on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.Key accomplishments: • Designed VM and network infrastructure to support data validation tool (QuerySurge) running on Azure VMs. • Conducted data stream processing with Confluent Cloud (fully-managed Apache Kafka platform). • Formulated hierarchy for management groups/subscriptions following Microsoft Enterprise Scale reference architecture. • Architectural decisions included: • Analytics Platform - Microsoft Fabric vs Synapse vs Snowflake. • Public DNS Registrar/Reseller. • Public DNS Hosting Provider - registrar vs Azure DNS. • Metrics Visualisation - Azure Dashboards vs Grafana.

Here, I created high-level designs, including detailed architecture diagrams for cloud components, ensuring seamless integration between Azure and GCP and adherence to non-functional requirements. I also developed low-level design outlining specific cloud components utilised in solutions and organised workshops addressing various data security issues. In this role, I steered development of real-time prediction software for transport providers across New Zealand using GCP's streaming and big data services. I spearheaded integration project to update internal registers (driver licence and motor vehicle) with any changes made to NZ companies register. I delivered high-level deign, such as detailed architecture diagrams for cloud components, mapped to non-functional requirements, integration to external systems, security considerations, and estimated operational costs and crafted support documentation for smooth BAU operations. I developed GCP streaming and batch ELT pipelines to enable seamless ingestion and processing of transport data.Key accomplishments: • Designed and delivered low-level document outlining cloud components utilised in solution. • Facilitated necessary reviews for smooth deployment of updates by delivering release documentation. • Created and implemented Azure Data Factory ETL batch pipeline to match large datasets from several registers.
