My work at CREA focuses on energy transition and climate adaptation. The organization's annual report on China's overseas coal power projects tracks China's overseas coal phase-out pledge to assess its impact on global climate change following the pledge made at the 2021 UN General Assembly. In the early stages of this project, I was responsible for data collection and analysis, tracking and evaluating 104 Chinese-backed coal power projects, primarily analyzing their changes and potential CO2 emissions after the pledge were issued. Additionally, during the report writing phase, I wrote the part that concluding three major trends for all projects since China's pledge: positive trends, naughty projects, and concerning new projects. During the report review phase, I was responsible for data verification and played a primary role in translating the Chinese version. Currently, both the Chinese and English versions of this report have been published on CREA's website. The report has received coverage from multiple media outlets, including The New York Times and The South China Morning Post.
