About Jc De Vera

I'm a social impact strategist and equity advocate with over a decade of experience working across the nonprofit, public, and philanthropic sectors. I bring a background in strategy development, community partnerships, policy advocacy, and organizational design to my personal and professional endeavors. My passion lies at the nexus of social justice, collaboration, and innovation. I see the interconnections between social inequities and recognize the need to develop strong policies, organizations and networks that will tackle them across sectors. Inspired by new ways of thinking and doing, I strive to work alongside communities to advance impactful solutions to systemic issues facing the most vulnerable and underserved.I'm fueled by collaborative, cross-sector approaches that promote economic opportunity and advance equity-centered systems change, particularly through philanthropy, community development, civic participation, and technology. I thrive in dynamic environments where I can take initiatives from soup to nuts, all while leading teams and organizations to work smarter and scale impact through the development and implementation of effective processes, programs, and policies. I completed a Master's degree in Public Policy at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where I deepened my knowledge on social and economic issues impacting low-income communities of color, and simultaneously strengthened skills in research, data analysis, and management to drive equitable, evidence-based policy solutions and decision-making. Ultimately, I seek to utilize my skills and gifts to live out my purpose: create sustainable and scalable change that uplifts those that have borne the brunt of inequities and unjust systems -- especially Black, Indigenous, people of color -- so they have the resources, opportunities, and relationships necessary to thrive, live with joy, and manifest their dreams.
