As co-founder and CTO of Live Elements - oversaw and worked on the development of a Liferay-based product for bootstrapping social networking sites. Helped to sell Live Elements to SusQtech in December 2010. Continued to support Live Elements clients as a consultant to SusQtech.While at Live Elements - helped to deploy 40+ communities for various Associations and small to large businesses. Oversaw a team of developers and personally built many features. Responsibility for all Live Elements architecture (software and deployment) decisions.

Worked as a senior software engineer and eventually solutions architect of solutions based on a PHP CMS product called WisePublisher. Architected and developed solutions for many clients and advised a small team of developers.

- Continued to support former employer (MSD) on their operations within the Treasury Department- Functioned as a mentor and technical advisor to MSD employees working on several projects- Developed a new Java/Swing-based application and associated docbook stylesheets that performs a docbook to HTML conversion of the entire IRM repository for quarterly publishing of the IRM CDROM- Continued to perform maintenance on the IRM management system (known as MPADS)- Helped MSD to win a large development contract with the IRS by developing a working prototype of the proposed application on very short notice with a tight deadline

- Supported the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through MSD's Treasury Information Processing Support Services (TIPSS 2) contract.- Solely responsible for the architecture, development, and implementation of a server-side J2EE system for markup language (SGML and XML) processing, conversion, and delivery (all updates to the 60,000 pages of the Internal Revenue Manual content pass through this program)- Designed, developed and maintained a significant portion of the Java-based development and deployment environment for MSD's System Integration staff (IRS Publishing and Distribution divisions)- Development environment is completely composed of freely available open-source software. The deployment environment runs on multiple Linux servers (several of which are mainframe instances). All Java applications are deployed to JBoss servers. The development environment is Eclipse/CVS/Ant-based with support for sub-projects, automated unit testing and reporting, and dependency management. Maintained, configured, and upgraded JBoss servers in Production, Testing, and Development environments. - Developed Java/Swing extensions to Arbortext's Epic XML/SGML authoring program.- Functioned as a mentor the the Systems Integration and XML/SGML staff through weekly Brown-Bag chats on various subjects and provided constant support to the staff in the form of problem-solving and general development/architecture advise.

- Created .NET-based framework for the development of alert-driven applications for the Webversa platform. Provided SOAP interface for integration with external systems- Created Java application for generating specific voice-application templates based on sets of data- Created Java/Tomcat framework for building alert-driven applications for the Webversa platform. Used DOM4J for XML creation and parsing and classes from the Apache-Commons project for managing HTTP related issues. Implemented a demo using this framework that included integration with Blackberry devices- Planned, Designed, and implemented a client-facing CRM portal for Webversa (now known as Entrieva)- Created VoiceXML application for client to demonstrate the capabilities of the Webversa platform- Created and managed a small website for a local area business.
