I was once asked by a Director of Client Services to join her team as she felt my personality, presentation and knowledge was well suited for the front office, I respectfully declined informing her, "I love operations'. I joined Forstmann-Leff ($4B Hedge Fund & RIA) as Operations Manager, they had 4 FTE's processing DTC Confirm/Affirm, within 6 months of re-engineering workflows, cleaning up Alert and SID, mentoring the team we succeeded at reducing resource allocation from 4 FTE's to half an FTE enabling us to take on additional responsibilities such as Trade Allocation & Support; Wrap Trading; Disaster Recovery/BCP; and much more.My journey started almost 30 years ago responding to an ad in the New York Times: "Wall Street 28k", an Operations Specialist role with Bankers Trust in the 'DTC Cage', back when there weren't any desktops, we’d collect large reams of trade tickets and stand in line at a green-screen terminal, oh how far we have come! Followed by Lehman Brothers, working High Grades and Muni's during the dot.com boom which led me to the role I introduced in this summary above, igniting my passion.After about a decade in NYC, the blackout of '03 being my fondest memory, I was presented with an opportunity to relocate to Florida, being a warm weather fowl, I leaped. Once again joining a Buy-Side firm that was in a transitional phase, having also recently relocated, had one single day of 'knowledge transfer' from the remaining staff. I could elaborate at great length to all that was accomplished here in a short period of time; however, two of these achievements were the implementation of a Disaster Recovery & BCP plan that maintained continuity through four hurricanes, as well as a significant improvement in Client Reporting, from several weeks to just a few short days.Followed as an entrepreneur with a MBO outsourcing firm, wonderful opportunity to engage my passion for efficiency and scale. Eventually, leading to FinTech, where I excelled in client facing roles, not because I am a ‘techie’, but because I possess passion, personality and wealth of experience.
