Jemmy Chayadi is the Director of Strategy and Sustainable Development, where he leads sustainability strategy, implementation, reporting, and partnerships at Djarum Foundation and across various diversified companies within Djarum Group. Jemmy is actively driving the sustainable transformation of businesses, and believes that the private sector plays a crucially important role in driving sustainability and in achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). A generalist and versatile executive with 20+years of leadership/management experience, Jemmy started his career as a Quality Engineer at Shure in Chicago, then moved to China to lead the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility at IKEA Asia Pacific, which ultimately led him back home to Indonesia and grew his career in Sustainability as the Vice President of Sustainability at APRIL Group. Jemmy holds a Master of Manufacturing Industrial Technology and Operations from Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jemmy also graduated from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Leadership Program 2016, in partnership with Yale University. Jemmy is passionate about community and environment. Jemmy is currently serving as the President of Wisconsin Alumni Association-Indonesia Chapter and sitting as a Member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) Alumni Advisory Council. Jemmy also serves as a Board Member in the Advisory Committee for Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara (the main partner of The Nature Conservancy in Indonesia). In addition, Jemmy co-founded Sindikasi Pemilu dan Demokrasi, an NGO to answer issues surrounding the topics of election and democracy in Indonesia. In his free time, Jemmy enjoys playing badminton and traveling with his family.
