In the role as new computer terminal projects Senior Buyer I was responsible for coordinating with engineers to select and qualify vendors, obtain and evaluate quotes, schedule meetings and procure all components needed for a new computer terminal. These development projects last from one to as long as two years. This included purchasing every component from complex circuit boards to screws. To assist the project manager and team members I developed an on-line shared spreadsheet to track components. I also reported on progress of material demands and problems with meeting schedule requirements at scheduled teem meetings. This job also required purchasing the first three months of production requirements of all components for the new terminal. This position is also responsible for purchasing specific commodities for production that includes SD, PCMCIA, CF memory, Hard Drives, and mounting equipment for LXE Vehicle Terminals.
