Responsibilities include command information and education, automated EFMP tracking, assist with connecting families to activities, manage the respite care program, navigate services members and families through the installation screening, counseling and referral, advocacy, marketing, committee chairmanship, coordinating recreational and cultural activities, monitoring program compliance, and supervision. Develops and maintains a respite care program for special needs family members. Currently, there are 5 respite care recipients being supported through the program. In addition, assist in the background check process for respite care providers to ensure proper placement into the program to provide service effectiveness for our families with special needs.Promotes and develops the installation activity EFMP by establishing and maintaining contact with State and local government, and civilian sector educational and service organizations to ensure maximum availability of resources and services for eligible military families through membership and an active participation in various boards, networks, and committees. This is done through the partnership with non-governmental agencies such as, but not limited to, Hawaii Department of Education, Children’s Community Council, Access Surf, and the FOCUS project, and various agencies throughout the State of Hawaii.
