Calculate airborne transmission of environmental noise through building envelopes, airborne transmission of interior noise through partitions, structureborne transmission of rooftop equipment noise through building framing, ductborne transmission of HVAC fan noise and turbulence-induced noise through building ductwork, etc.Predict levels of building floor vibration due to human activity, mechanical equipment, and excitation from environmental vibration sources. Calculate groundborne vibration impact of construction activities to nearby buildings, to prevent structural damage and interference with vibration-sensitive operations.Review project design drawings and documents to provide detailed recommendations and specifications to design teams, ensuring that project acoustical criteria are met within budget and without overdesign.Manage projects through tasks such as criterion generation, budget management, employee scheduling, resource coordination, billing management, and technical reporting. Manage projects ranging from small-scale (e.g. single rooms) to large-scale (e.g. full design and construction of multi-building campuses). Perform team-lead duties that include management of assignments, review of team member reports for submission to clients, and training of entry-level engineers in all aspects of the position.

Develop and test computational models of time-domain acoustical propagation and resonance using the OpenFOAM computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software package.Evaluate compressible-flow CFD solvers and finite-volume numerical schemes for accuracy in predicting small-amplitude linear wave propagation and three-dimensional acoustic resonance.Test and verify convergence of numerically-computed solutions in the time and frequency domains. Analyze the effects of mesh and time-step resolutions on solution accuracy.Validate computational models through direct comparison of results to both analytically-derived and experimentally-measured solutions in the time and frequency domains.Work with cross-disciplinary team of acoustics, mechanical engineering, and bioengineering professors in a long-term project involving the computational modeling and experimental simulation of human phonation.Perform academic research culminating in master’s thesis: "An Acoustic Foundation for a Fully-Coupled Aeroelastic and Aeroacoustic Phonation Model Using OpenFOAM."
