Privatelabs.com was a photo sharing and print site that was well ahead of its time. Think flicker + with early web 2.0 photo edit tools and a high resolution print ordering system.As CTO I built a team from scratch. Built a product from the ground up, designed and oversaw the implementation of a scalable API ordering solution as well as a home grown high.

Kinexus was a reporting platform for high wealth individuals helping them to organize and view their portfolio positions in near real time. My work was largely on our data engineering system that gathered financial information from multiple sources in varied formats and translated it into our proprietary XML DB format working in TCL and perl.

In the glory days of the dot-com boom there was StarMedia - Yahoo for Latin America. A portal play, back when portals were cool, as a contractor I built their webmail systems in Perl using an oracle backend on Solaris systems. I came on full time and was promoted to head of E-commerce engineering. Latin America at this time didn't have credit card.
