Hi, I'm James. I'm a full-time student currently attending the University of Toronto in my second year who is looking for a summer work term under the ASIP History Stream. During my time at the University of Toronto I have completed a fair few courses during which I wrote essays, conducted extensive research, and collaborated with others to create group projects. Through the practice of proper research and essay writing practices, thorough communication with groupmates, organization and tracking of current and upcoming tasks, and proper balancing of my commitments I was able to achieve a 3.87 GPA and, most recently, a $3000 scholarship brought upon by said grades. Currently, I volunteer at Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary and have been doing so since August of 2024. At this animal shelter I have developed skills involving the care of animals while ensuring the dogs (and sometimes cats) I interact with are happier than before I interacted with them. In the past, I have had plenty of volunteer experience, working at the Mission Thrift Store in Newmarket, Ontario, during the summer of 2021 as a loader. Here, I aided in transporting donated merchandise off the curb, helping ensure it reached the store floor in a timely fashion while developing my teamwork and customer support skills. Furthermore, I do have work experience in the form of a dishwashing position at the Boston Pizza location in East Gwillimbury, Ontario from June of 2022 to March of 2023. This job further developed my skills in teamwork while also furthering my capacity to work under pressure, for there were often nights where I had to wash hundreds of dishes an hour to keep up with restaurant demands.
