These years have been full of learning and development, and I'm eager to share my journey.Before That!:Before this role, I served as an Air Defense Battle Management Systems Operator (MOS: 14G) on Active Duty for the US ARMY.This role involved varied duties based on unit needs. A significant portion revolved around operating and maintaining Windows and Linux-based “Air & Missile Defense Systems.” This experience demanded precision, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of computer systems, including:- Computer and network troubleshooting- Operating specialized software- Managing portions of our Air & Missile Defense infrastructure:- Configuring 'mesh network radios'- Loading cryptographic keys- Emplacing antennas & diesel generators for power/signal- Rebuilding critical OSs through adherence to documentationInitially, explaining my ARMY experience as IT was a challenge, as it wasn't clear how I aligned with traditional IT roles. However, the skills I developed—troubleshooting, specialized software operation, and system management—are foundational to IT. Working in a critical military context gave me unique technical skills and experiences. I'm grateful for the diverse challenges and learning opportunities that I had in the Army's Air Defense Branch.I’m Still Working:With CompTIA's A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, and Microsoft AZ-900, (Plus CompTIA CSCP, CSIS, CCAP, & CIOS) I've gained hands-on skills to tackle challenges in cloud infrastructure, network troubleshooting, and IT security. These certifications show my commitment to growth and readiness to apply my skills in impactful ways.Looking Ahead:I am focused on expanding my expertise in cloud technologies, particularly in Azure access, identity, and security. I thrive in roles that challenge me, where I can collaborate with teams and make an impact—securing access with IAM, managing Key Vault secrets, handling JIT permissions, and supporting others with cloud services.I'm passionate about creating value for my organization and colleagues.
