As social media changes, so does my job description. My main priority is to update the both websites for the duopoly KFOX14 and CBS4. Whether it's breaking news daily news stories or breaking local or national news, I make those articles available to the El Paso and Las Cruces community.Then there's the fun part. The majority of my time is spent pushing out the content created by myself and my peers. I share links, videos, photos on our station's Facebook and Twitter accounts, and as simple as that sounds, it gets complicated. I work to ensure publication schedules are met, and that content posted on social media is gear toward driving engagement. That means mixing up posts between photos, videos, live broadcasts, polls, etc. I am familiar with Facebook's edge rank system to ensure that our content is seen by as many followers as possible. We spend most of our time coming up with fun or informative Facebook Live ideas, and how making a daily, monotonous story feel engaging and new to the average viewer.

I was a general assignments reporter who would conduct interviews and write for the print and online editions of the newspaper. I worked under tight deadlines and shadowed senior beat reporters to school district meetings and other interviews. I also shot and edited some video packages to accompany my online story using Adobe After Effects.
