HealthLink provides a computer communications system that links the information technology systems of more than 15,500 medical organisations across Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Island nations. Each year, over 100 million pieces of patient and clinical information are exchanged using the HealthLink system. In Australia, HealthLink is the largest provider of secure hospital clinical messaging exchange, including the sending and receiving of pathology and radiology results, discharge summaries, and eReferrals with General Practices. HealthLink is also a pioneer in the development of ‘cloud-based’ online SmartForm technology, helping GPs automate the ordering of pathology and radiology services, referring patients to hospitals and health services, and completing mandatory Gov't-based Medical Assessments and Certificates.My role focuses on helping Australia's hospitals and health services:* communicate faster, electronically, and more securely with the rest of the health system* eliminate the manual handling of private patient information by securely integrating with our vast vendor partner network* reduce clinical risk and error-prone paper based administration * deliver digital information integrity and efficiency using Australian Standards* receive new SmartForms that deliver instant, secure, rich, and where possible atomic patient data directly from referring Doctors* free up their staff so they can focus on the more important aspects of patient carehttp://au.healthlink.net
