About John C. Mosher
In June 2018, after 25 years of scientific and clinical experience, principally in magnetoencephalography, I joined the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) as Professor in the Department of Neurology at the McGovern Medical School. As a part of the Texas Institute for Restorative Neurotechnologies (TIRN) inside of UTHealth, under the leadership of Drs. Tandon, Lhatoo, and Zhang, I am continuing my NIH research in the development of novel algorithms, software, and hardware in electrophysiology, with particular application to patients with epilepsy or Alzheimer's.I am a pioneer in the development of advanced MEG source analyses and have worked in this field since 1989. Since 1994, I have been without interruption a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on competitive grants from the National Institutes of Health, as well as several competitive Department of Energy Laboratory Directed Research and Development grants. In my research roles, I have served as a formal Mentor of Laboratory-employed students and post-docs, and as an informal mentor of my collaborator's students and post-docs. In my roles, I therefore interact with dozens of both experienced and beginning epileptologists, neurologists, and other physicians, who provide invaluable feedback on the practical interaction with software modeling tools. Working closely with these students and collaborators, I have continuously published in this field of biomedical research since 1990. Specialties: Research and translation to clinical practice of the forward and inverse problem (imaging, modeling) in magnetoencephalography (MEG) and electroencephalography (EEG).
Listed skills include Signal Processing, Biomedical Engineering, Image Processing, Physics, and 38 others.
