Leader for the Career Readiness Initiative that launched during the fall 2016 school year. Created a roadmap to implement employer engagement across career and college centers in Minneapolis public schools. The purpose of this initiative was to introduce high school students at all grade levels to career options with high wage potential obtainable through a wide variety of post secondary education pathways. Through building trust with district leadership, post secondary partners, and the business community, we increased student awareness of post secondary and career pathways in all grade levels. In addition the program saw increased engagement between educators, trade unions, and the business community. Provided direct leadership for school based Career Readiness Coordinators and Career Exposure Associates. Developed a menu of options for businesses and individual volunteers interested in engaging students around career readiness. Collaborated with Minneapolis Public Schools to create and facilitate professional development training sessions on a regular basis for school counselors. Developed and maintained an employer engagement database to be used by school staff in order to request volunteers for specific career readiness events throughout the district.
