Was appointed as part of the shared service agenda to lead a new team across events and arts development agenda in both Redditch and Bromsgrove geographical areas. Achievements included managing the safety advisory task force process for Olympic Torch presence in Borough of Redditch 2012, securing £75,000 from Department of Transport (Central Government) for sponsorship of events programme.

Stronger Communities is a scheme designed to help bring people together as a result of the City hosting the Commonwealth Games. The panels are designed to provide a mechanism for Birmingham citizens and strategic partners to offer constructive challenge, advise and feedback to all Games Legacy projects. Panel chaired by Cllr John Cotton Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion, Community Safety and Equalities

The National Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre have been added to my service area. Recent project work includes development of cultural and economic impact fund of £150,000 in Bromsgrove district which led to amongst other achievements the visit of Lyon based International Celestial Arts company Transe Express; and securing funding cocktail programme for heritage work of over £70,000 from three non departmental public bodies.Current remit includes :(2016-present) Convenor of Bromsgrove Arts & Culture Consortium and it’s launch £72,000 programme : practise as research 14 month residency exploring the barriers to engagement with culture. Strategic connection roll out: Worcestershire Arts Partnership, and further outwards. Management of core establishment team of eight in addition to pool of part time, voluntary and casual workforce. Overall management responsibility for two Scheduled Ancient Monuments : National Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey site. Overall management responsibility for outdoor events portfolio engaging over 55,000 people in outdoor spaces on an annual basis. Music Festivals, Street Theatre large and small scale, Bonfire and Firework Spectaculars.Management of outdoor venue hire on behalf of both councils, contract, grant awarding, and service level agreement monitoring, management overview of partnership based strategical decision making process in both geographcal areas through AiR (Arts in Redditch) Partnership in Redditch and the Bromsgrove Resources for the Arts and Culture Partnership, marketing and income generation oversight. Developmental service work including management of public arts/realm programmes. Local Authority representation on Super safety advisory group (Worcestershire wide)

I sat on the board of Voluntary Arts as a whole (A GB wide Charity) and within the role I managed the National Advisory Group for the English Department of Voluntary Arts for over 6 years ( a governance process awarded the prestigious Winifred Truman Award for excellence in governance in the charitable sector)

Audiences Central provided audience development and customer relationship management services for the West Midlands Cultural sector

Development of Shared Libraries (West Midlands ) and Arts Development shared services scoping commission

Responsibility for the arts development agenda in the Borough of Redditch. Executive lead for the artsinredditch (air) partnership that managed the stratgey for the area. AiR is a celebration of freedom, life, escape........achievements include managing the £750,000 AiR (Arts in Reddich) Festival 2005 with Jools Holland, Lemar, Natasha Bedingfield , Music of the Spheres, and bringing Tasmin Little to perform with her Stradivarius at Kingsley College, Redditch. Jonathan worked with the team overseeing the 4 million pound restoration of the Edwardian Palace Theatre in partnership with one million ponds of Heritage Lottery Fund. Additional achievements included the delivery of 28 day radio broadcast (air) across the district in close partnership with communities, a range of public art/realm programmes including the Needles Gateway, 25th Anniversary celebrations of the Paolozzi Mosaic panels (once the UK's largest non metropolitan area public realm commission), and levering over £400,000 in external grants for restricted cultural outcome purposes.

Lead the governance and general strategical development of the rural and small scale touring scheme for Worcestershire

Strategical lead of the Worcestershire Arts Officers Partnership

As part of this role I convened two meetings a year in the West Midlands inviting all local authority arts development services to share common issues and to network.

Lead by Artists and Learning Support Services , the advisory group worked in partnership with Acewm to take forward the arts and education artist training agenda in the West Midlands.

In brief I produced youth arts work with predominantly Muslim Sikh Hindu communities utilising music and theatre specialism in venues such as Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Midlands Arts Centre, Custard Factory, Warwick Arts Centre utilising funding such as Year of the Artist, European Regional Development Fund, Single Regeneration Budget and British Council. Involved with exchange programmes with Tamil Nadhu, Barcelona and inparticular took interest in programme between Israel and Muslim youth in Birmingham. Did some Action Research consultancy work for Birmingham University Sociology Department, worked for Playbox Theatre (Dream Factory) for 18 month period with 2-18 yr olds, Groundwork Black Country, Barnardos (national UK charity).

Developed drama interventions to aid relationship building between home and school settings. Culminated in large scale performance work "Kahanian" (Urdu for "Storytelling") on main stage of Birmingham Repertory Theatre with 120 children and young people between 5 and 16 years.
