Engineer by training, John has solved complex business and technical challenges, while adhering to his unique interpretation of “getting outside the comfort zone”: simultaneously, move to a new country, work in a different industry, and learn a new language.In the global quest for new sources of energy, he worked at Max-Planck Institut in Germany, after graduating from Electrical Engineering in Lisbon, Portugal. He designed and deployed digital signal processing algorithms to make nuclear fusion a reality sooner rather than later. (nuclear fusion, a nonradioactive form of energy, is equivalent to have the Sun confined within a doughnut shaped structure)John was a Product Manager for a software analytics firm, Simba Technologies in the Pacific Northwest. More recently he co-founded eneidaws, an industrial wireless sensing company, and has played an active advisory role in product direction and roadmap on eneida’s smart grid offering. .Worked with Blast Radius, a WPP company, from the beginning of digital until the end of the digital beginning. From consulting with Michelin’s big bet and foray into e-commerce to supporting Lexus’ launch of a new compact car, for a new market segment requiring new marketing approach. If Digital is eating the world - then learning from data is eating up Digital. John went back to coding, and recently attended some of the most demanding Stanford Engineering’s courses in Machine Learning.
