Mijn voornaamste taak was het vertalen van duurzame ambities (strategisch) naar SMART-doelstellingen (tactisch) en uitvoerbare maatregelen (operationeel), in samenwerking met in-/externe stakeholders en integraal afgestemd op andere lokale, regionale en landelijke opgaven. De focus van de ambities ligt op de thema's energietransitie, klimaatadaptatie, circulariteit en biodiversiteit. Werkzaamheden als beleidsinventarisatie, -opstelling, -implementatie, -monitoring en projectadvisering maakten eveneens onderdeel uit van mijn kerntaken.

The We Are Tomorrow Global Partnership (WAT-GP) is an international organisation that empowers young voices, consolidates and strengthens cross-border youth networks, and co-creates constructive national climate action plans to influence decision makers. The WAT-GP aims to:• Inspire youth networks worldwide to formulate their own ambitions and influence their governments to take more climate action;• Have governments increase the ambitions of their nationally determined contributions (NDCs);• Raise awareness of climate change and the importance of youth participation in the climate debate;• Stimulate youth participation globallyAs the Global Partnership's Public Affairs Manager, my main tasks included reaching out to and maintaining good relationships with political and public institutions, as well as with our partners abroad; propagating the GP's political position within the international climate debate; and looking out for opportunities that would allow the GP to positively contribute to increased participation of youth in the climate policy-making process. From August 2020 until June 2021, I and seven others have been part of a programme that has trained and prepared us to be certified 'Climate Ambassadors of the Future' (as of 25 June 2021) through individual projects and ten monthly gatherings involving broad themes such as sustainability, climate diplomacy, CSR, ESG and more. The programme was an initiative of the then-Climate Envoy for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Marcel Beukeboom, and endorsed by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.At no point have I worked for or been employed by the Ministry. All statements made and opinions expressed in my capacity as Climate Ambassador of the Future are my own and can in no way be linked to the Ministry.
