I worked as a contract engineer at Canovus' Foster Creek oil sands site. The Foster Creek project site is in a remote part of Northern Canada on an active air force base. We weathered temperatures of -45C in the winter and muskeg (swamp), horseflies, bears and wolves in the summer. The site covered 1.6 million acres, larger than the inside of the M25 in.
