I’m a UX Engineer and Frontend Developer in Seattle. I am currently looking for work. I’ve been making web apps, mobile apps, and websites for over 30 years! As a hybrid designer & developer, my primary skilllsets are User Experience Design and Frontend Engineering.I created my first web site in 1994 and have been working full-time in the web industry since 1995. Early in my career, I worked in-house in the Education and Journalism industries, before eventually moving to the agency side, focusing on client services. I have since toggled back and forth between the agency world and the startup world, often as a contractor. Most recent, I was the Founding UX Engineer of Meetingflow, a SaaS product focused on optimizing the sales meeting workflow, including automated recording and transcription of video meetings, generative AI-powered meeting summaries and insights, an AI copilot trained on a sales team’s meetings, collaborative note-taking, and more. Meetingflow was acquired in Spring 2024.I have extensive experience in UX design, deep knowledge of frontend development, and some experience on the backend. I'm something of a hybrid between a designer and developer, and I fit best in roles that allow me to work across these disciplines. I often design in code, as my extensive understanding of CSS allows me to work faster in this way than in a design tool such as Figma (although Figma and the like are great for collaboration!).In the past, I have authored books on web design, spoken at major conferences, fostered a social media presence, and blogged about the industry at jeffcroft.com. Today, I do none of the these things. Because I don't want to. :)I'm a father, a Buddhist, a yogi, a hobbyist music producer and instrumentalist, and an NFL fanatic.
