About Jennifer Cho Salaff

MEET JENNIFER. Writer. Editor. Storyteller. Jennifer Cho Salaff’s love of storytelling transcends medium. Whether it’s print or digital, news or features, blogging or creating client-focused content for businesses and non-profit organizations, what excites Jennifer most is the fact that everyone has a story. An award-winning newspaper reporter and magazine editor, Jennifer’s work covering Entertainment, Lifestyle, Arts & Culture, Health and Education has appeared in various publications including the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, LA Daily News, Orange County Register, the Toronto Globe and Mail, and Parenting OC, Darling and Inside Business magazines. Her assignments have taken her to numerous cities and across the globe. She traveled to Africa to document the AIDS crisis in Zambia; wrote about everyday New Yorkers – firefighters, day traders, restaurant owners – following Sept. 11; reported the stories of Sudanese refugees (“The Lost Boys”) struggling to make a new life in San Diego; and her obsession with coffee put her on a quest to find the best cup of joe in Southern California’s Inland Empire. Before becoming a journalist Jennifer enjoyed a stint working in Hollywood, first at Walt Disney Feature Animation and then at MTV Networks. Most recently, she served as Senior Content Producer at shark&minnow, a strategy and design firm that makes the complex simple - via research, strategic planning, design, content creation and civic engagement. At shark&minnow, Jennifer approached Content Marketing with a journalist's mindset (educate, inform and enlighten) utilizing research & investigation, primary sourcing, smart writing and tight editing. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from UC Berkeley, a Master of Science degree in Journalism from Columbia University, and is currently an MFA candidate in Creative Writing at The New School.
