About James Sanborn

Born and raised in NH, college in NY, started my career in CO during the early days of AI applications, programming Lisp machines and industrial robots. Did original AI research at U Maryland, applied it to battlefield simulation and space-based robotics at MITRE. Moved back west to NM, working in Factory Automation and Process Improvement at Intel during the 90s. Took on leadership, training, and mentoring, won an Intel Achievement Award in Automation, and facilitated Covey leadership classes for all staff.Followed my dream to live in a mountain community, moving to Taos in 2001 and becoming a certified ski instructor. Worked as an local technology consultant and started a family. in 2016, I accepted the challenge to implement 20+ new IT systems for the first hotel at Taos Ski Valley, including all networking, servers, databases, applications, configuration, validation, and training, all completed in under 100 days. Promoted to Director in 2017, leading diverse technical team responsible for all resort IT systems and infrastructure. Led resort IT development efforts, including new and facilities extensive remodeling, infrastructure upgrades, and cellular expansion.I'm most proud of my ability to learn new businesses, content areas, technology, and processes, and quickly deliver results for an organization. I love working with people in all roles, clarifying goals and facilitating work to achieve them, and helping people grow their capacity and contribution.
