I taught a public speaking performance lab as a graduate teaching assistant. I believe the most important aspect of teaching is to care about my students and to be approachable. Teaching is a relationship and requires interaction from both parties. Public speaking is a very important skill to learn, and causes a lot of anxiety; students in my class need someone that is easy to talk to, and provides an atmosphere in class that is fun and relaxing, rather than tense and frightening. Public speaking is scary enough on its own. My responsibilities included: demonstrating correct methods of speaking, teaching how to write a good speeches and outline, developing educational and interactive activities, encouraging participation and helping my students overcome their anxiety, grading speeches and outlines, and providing an atmosphere that allows students to connect with their classmates and enjoy (if only survive) the public speaking experience.

I was hired as an Adjunct Professor during the Summer of 2015 and 2016 to teach Public Speaking and Introduction to Human Communication Online. I designed the syllabus, collected the necessary curriculum materials, and designed the Blackboard platform for both courses. The normally semester-long courses were designed to run intensively, meeting every day for a month. The class was challenging but a lot of fun for me and for my students.
