Coaching AAU basketball for the West Central Wildcats.Managing diverse expectations and motivations on afamily-to-family basis, navigating additional travelconsiderations, and effectively implementing a system within atight timeframe are intricate challenges that enhance thecomplexity of this role.In the ‘23 season, I guided the 6th grade boys orange teamthrough these complexities. Looking ahead to ‘24, I am confirmedfor another coaching opportunity.

Assistant for both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, whileconcurrently serving as Head Coach of the C-Squad/9th Gradeteam.● Act as the in-game statistician for the varsity team, utilizingcomputer applications on a tablet to track live game statistics.● Handle Hudl film and livestream scheduling for the program.Work as a liaison between the basketball teams and themedia/genius team, verifying accurate information exchange andtimely reflection of schedule changes.● As facilitator of community education’s youth basketballprogram, I bridge the gap between youth coaches/athletes andthose in the high school program at shared events.● Achieved a 20-13 (.606) record with the C-Squad team over thecourse of two seasons.

● At the request of the elementary school office, I obtained my short-term substitute teaching license to address a district-wide shortage in the position. While my primary role remained with Title I during the day, I made myself available for substitute teaching when external substitutes were unavailable orlast-minute changes occurred.● Engaged in the Title I program, my role involved one-on-one or one-on-two sessions with K-6th grade students identified by administration for additional intervention.● The small group format allowed for a personalized approach tailored to each student’s unique needs. The primary challenge in this role centered around accurately assessing progress, given theindividualized nature of each student’s difficulties, eliminating the possibility of a uniform frame of comparison.

Despite lacking a playing background in football, secured the Head Coaching position for the 7th grade football team based on coaching education and a stellar reputation.Focused on cultivating team-building processes and prioritizing individual character growth in education-based athletic environments, particularly crucial in junior high sports.● Exceptional engagement and buy-in shown by athletes,surpassing expectations.

● Initially, the role largely involved background responsibilities,this circumstance was exacerbated by the challenges broughtforth by the COVID pandemic. In my first season- focus was onfacility setup and supervision.● Over time, circumstances evolved as I gained experience. In the‘23/’24 season, I took on site setup and supervision,communication with volunteer coaches, dissemination ofscheduling information, and hosting additional events likescrimmages.● Volunteered as the substitute coach for the entire communityeducation program, allowing me to cover sessions forparent-coaches and directly address program concerns,leveraging my membership within the high school program andknowledge of its current focuses.

Assisted the program facilitator throughout a 4-week after school floor hockey program. Our goals werenot dependent on the development of the students' technical skill, but on creating interest in the sportand providing a fun extracurricular activity. As such, my role included supervision and facility setup.About 25 students per session, all sixth grade or younger.

More of a background, supportive role. I was asked by the program director to help with flag footballonly after their enrollment numbers were much higher than anticipated.

Head Coach and Program Facilitator for the Little Tykes Tee Ball program. Co-ed, ages 4-5. Enrollmentof about 25-30 students for both 2021 and 2022.The most intrinsically pleasing experience, in work or education, of my career. We ran this program onthe basis of student-parent enrollment, meaning every student participating in the program was requiredto have a parent or guardian sign up to participate with them. This both provided a sense of comfortand familiarity for the younger children while partaking in a new group activity, and lessened my staffingshortages of varying degree.For a majority of the students, this was not only their first experience with baseball/softball, but theirfirst taste of organized sport in general. As such, I prioritized enjoyment and building a foundationallove of the game. Drills and activities were designed to keep the kids in physical motion and mentalengagement.Aside from the relationships and trust I built with the enrolled parents, I am most proud of the highnumber of repeat students there were my second year in the program. Over half of those enrolled thislast summer were five years old, looking to build on the fun and learning they did in 2021!
