    As a manager on the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) team I delivered updates to the product's Windows drivers. The drivers provided application and device control as well Network Threat Protection and needed to be upgraded to work with Windows7 and other 64 bit operating systems. This team was spread between Beijing and Mountain View, CA.I was also frequently required to act as an escalation point for customers of the existing SEP product.As a manager running the Brightmail Anti-Spam Technology group we delivered a sender reputation system that reduced overall load by placing a limit on the volume of messages allowed from suspicious IPs. The feature also replaced the on-box file based IP reputation system allowing us to scale from a data set of six hundred thousand IPs to over five hundred million.Delivered multiple releases for the Symantec 8160 appliance. This appliance was based on the TurnTide TCP/IP traffic shaping and reduced mail volumes by as much as 80% at large customers like Comcast and MessageLabs.Awarded patent #7647411: "System and method for controlling distribution of network communications" As an engineer I implemented the integration with Symantec's licensing system for the 8160.I also delivered a new admin interface to facilitate the configuration for the appliance.Delivered a mesh network solution using SSH tunnels to securely connect appliances in a customer's network allowing the appliances to share data. This ensured that appliances had the same reputation information and were allowed the same QoS.

Delivered a high performance highly reliable Linux user space process to analyze email using multiple technologies including machine learning (bayesian analysis).Delivered an admin portal to provide graphical reporting showing customers the efficacy of the appliance.Prior to pivoting to the anti-spam router the company was focused on cryptographic email stamping to verify senders. During this time I delivered the web interface that decrypted stamps allowing recipients to verify the authenticity of the sender.
