Previously, Dave was a founding member and officer of CACM’S Affiliate council. In 2003, he was recognized for his work in helping draft the outline and functionality standards within California’s Right-to-repair Law. Dave also worked on the Task Force’s “Best Practices” matrix, outlining guidelines for implementing preventive maintenance programs, and for quality home and community building strategies. After the collapse of the Champlain Towers in 2021, he aided two CAI task forces in developing recommendations for State Legislatures to adopt statutes and best practices to help prevent building tragedies. Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in City Planning from the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia and earned his Certificate in Real Estate from the University of California at San Diego.

Vice PresidentN N Jaeschke, Inc. 1991 - 1995I started NNJ's maintenance division with my General Contractors license in 1991. While working at NNJ I learned that having in-house maintenance (and other services such as janitorial, painting and landscaping) was not only problematic because your clients are also your co-employees (a conflict of interest even if properly disclosed) but you are also limited to the number of HOA's (properties) that you can service to those that you manage - another management company would never hire the competition to be a vendor at their property. I left NNJ in 1996 to found ProTec because of this constraint and also because I saw the need for "quality" maintenance at other HOA management companies. I left NNJ with great appreciation to my mentor Nora Jaeschke who taught me everything I ever wanted to know about HOA's.
