After recognizing a need for more awareness of the importance of mental health, I founded a student organization called OUr Mental Health at the University of Oklahoma. Through this organization, we were able to raise more awareness through campaigns on campus, as well as, advocacy with university administration. Since the inception of the organization, the topic of mental health has grown wide across campus. With the advocacy work, the university hired 2 new psychiatrists and a new psychologist within 3 years of the inception of OUr Mental Health. The organization also works closely in the Norman community and has had representation on the Cleveland Country Health Department's Mental Health Task Force.

At the age of 12 until the middle of my freshman year of college, I served as the Youth Radio Announcer for my church's weekly Saturday morning broadcast on KTLV 1220 AM. Throughout those 7 years, I was able to find my passion in media and in my faith. I served along side my grandmother for 3 years until her death and along with my pastor. This experience defined who I am today and without it, none of the other items on my LinkedIn would matter or exist.
