Experienced scientist and manager of research groups specializing in x-ray – matter interactions with more than 15 years of experience at synchrotron and x-ray free electron laser (FEL) facilities. I led a team to design, build and commission the first experimental instrument for Atomic, Molecular and Optical (AMO) science at the world’s premier x-ray free electron laser. I have been a successful leader of multidisciplinary teams of scientists, controls and mechanical engineers, and technical staff building and operating complex state-of-the art large-scale scientific equipment at U.S. Department of Energy funded multiuser facilities. I am currently leading a scientific group operating, maintaining and improving a VUV-soft x-ray beamline at Synchrotron SOLEIL in France.
