As CEO of the Michigan Small Business Development Center, I lead an organization of 115 consultants whose vision is to make Michigan the best place to start and grow a business. The Michigan SBDC is an innovative consulting organization that serves all 83 counties and helps entrepreneurs and small business owners succeed. Led Modustri’s innovation team, product strategy, and marketing. Created an innovation team from the ground up. Developed a product roadmap support through VOC, pilots, and user input. Product area leader with strategy, P&L, IP, marketing & staffing responsibility.

Responsible for digital innovation in a $5 billion integrated health system, including 13 hospitals, 2,000 private practice physicians, and 750,000-member payer organization. Accountable for strategy and capital investments in technology innovation to support the patient journey. Programs implemented under my leadership include digital patient engagement, virtual patient visits, and digital marketing. Grew digital team from four to more than 22 members in one year. The Digital Innovation team was nominated for an “Excellence in Design” Synergy Award.

Responsible for building Amway's Global Digital & Mobile Strategy. Evaluated new and emerging technology to support strategic marketing goals. Founded the Amway Mobile Congress—a 35-member team representing 50+ countries dedicated to efficiently and effectively implementing digital & mobile strategy. Won the “2010 Technology and Innovation” award from Direct Selling Association.

Designated to lead the re-branding of ARTISTRY, a $1B global prestige Skin Care brand. Established the Scientific Advisory Board and created strategic alignment between Research & Development and Global Sales & Marketing by implementing creative win-win solutions.Managed and grew Oral Care ($240MM) and Body Care ($220MM) categories while implementing aggressive cost-reduction strategies.

Identified new business opportunities for Amway and evaluated build vs. buy decisions. Managed cross-functional teams supporting new business operations, including Finance, IT, Customer Service, and Supply Chain Logistics. Led the successful implementation/acquisition of small businesses including development of strategic business plans and gaining board-level approval.

Identified need for Internet banking and created strategic plan for Old Kent’s entry into the market.Gained board approval, led implementation and launched an Internet Banking site that exceeded all performance projections.

Consulting sectors included: Manufacturing, Operations & Information Technology
