About Jose Del Toro
Hello and thank you for stopping by my page. A little bit about me. My name is Jose Del Toro and in 2016, I graduated from Northern Illinois University with both my bachelor's and master's in accountancy. This provided me with the education needed to start my career in taxation at the accounting firm, Crowe.At Crowe, I was a member of the financial institutions team and for a little over two years, I gained experience preparing federal tax returns and performing other tasks for banks and corporations. During my first summer, I was able to participate in the ALPFA convention but as a professional and in 2018, I was selected to help facilitate Crowe's Tax 101 convention for our new hires. In 2019, I decided to pursue new opportunities and took a position as a tax analyst at PSAV, now Encore. I started by learning about sales tax exemptions and eventually oversaw the tax exemption process as well as maintained the records for the company's business licenses. While my experience at PSAV was great, it made me want to learn more about indirect tax. In the spring of 2020, I was able to find an opportunity at AAR Corp that allowed me to gain experience in indirect tax as well as use my direct tax experience. However, soon after starting with the company, the pandemic hit and unfortunately I was furloughed and eventually one of the many employees who was let go. Now, after taking some time to myself to practice safety, I am beginning to look for new opportunities in taxation while also studying for the CPA.
