Regulation & Supervision of Gas Market, Setting allowed income and tariffs of Transmission System operator, implementing European rules and regulations aimed at harmonisation, market integration and transparancy, advising on the swift reduction of Groningen Gas production, advising on future regulation of hydrogen markets.

I am responsible for a team of 20 people. I was responsible for a team of 25 people and all the NMa cases in these sectors. Part of my team was the Financial Sector Monitor, a team of 5, which performed competition studies in the financial sector. We managed to produce many results for example in the mortgage market, real estate auction market, insurance pools and fabric cleaning. Two products were rated as as Key Achievements by the Global Competition review.

I was part of the management team. Within the department of 40 people, I was directly responsible for 20 people. We dealt with a merger wave. We had many succesful cases, positive reviews in Global Competition Review and won all our court cases in this period. The NMa operates a leniency policy whereby companies that provide information about a cartel in which they participated might receive full or partial immunity from fines. I was part of the team that developed the leniency system and the work processes at the NMa. We handled about 450 applications in the construction industry as part of a clean up operation. The special procedure we developed was later partially used in the UK and South Africa.

I handled many mergers cases and some antitrust cases, both as team member and as team leader.

I did economic research, for example analysing the effect of different subsidies, the innovative potential of inventors and the importance of companies for the local economy.
