About Jessica De Mouy

I’m Jess, a seasoned Researcher with over five years of experience in qualitative, quantitative, and secondary research within nonprofit and government-funded organizations. Through my work, I aim to increase diverse representation among subject matter experts to create inclusive and accessible policy discussions.I excel in qualitative survey research, data analysis, identifying experts and key scientific literature, facilitating group brainstorming activities, literature review, project management, and event planning. I also bring hands-on experience with bibliometric analysis. In my role as a Research Associate of the Board on Life Sciences at the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, I helped NIH leadership identify emerging research areas and tools for environmental health to anticipate public health needs for next 15 years. I delivered a white paper of findings and recommendations to NIH leadership that was based on my research efforts, including interviewing ten subject matter experts, facilitating fourteen group exercises, coding transcripts, and analyzing data to pull out actionable findings.I also had the opportunity to review the NSF program’s effectiveness by designing and delivering a 10-page booklet with scientific findings, budgetary/logistical challenges, and strategies for training students. To gather the data included in the booklet, I created a questionnaire form sent to 100+ principal investigators, conducted phone interviews, coded and analyzed data, and developed charts to summarize my insights.Outside of work, I enjoy nature hikes, women's soccer, rock climbing, traveling, and cultivating plants!Technologies: Alchemer (SurveyMonkey), Qualtrics, R Studio, r/Bibliometrix, Kumu, SPSS, Canva, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Microsoft 365 Suite, Zoom
