Primary duties include facilitating legal, regulatory and permitting guidance to support business objectives of plant operations. In this role I serve as a liaison between senior management, legal counsel and facility management for coordinating environmental auditing for the LafargeHolcim group cement, slag and terminal operations within the United States. My duties also include facilitation of the corporate ISO program and other operational environmental compliance projects associated with the manufacturing and distribution of cementitious materials.

Facilitate environmental compliance associated with the Portland cement manufacturing processes at the Holcim (US) Holly Hill facility, which includes mining, non-hazardous and hazardous waste management, air pollution control, drinking water, process water, storm water management, and land management. Typical activities include: + Coordinate environmental certification training and communications;+ Implement environmental management activities in accordance with ISO 14001 standard: - Develop new and revise existing SOPs, - Participate in external certification audits, and - Conduct internal audits and closed-loop verification of records documentation.+ Facilitate Continuous Emissions Monitoring System operations;+ Ensure compliance with facility environmental permits; - Permit new equipment/activities under RCRA, Clean Air and Clean Water Act requirements - Administrative maintenance of all environmental permits+ Coordinate stack testing activities;+ Analyze data and compile reports associated with air, land, and water management regulations; - EPCRA TRI, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Emissions Inventory, Title V Certification - Solid Waste Management Unit monitoring and reporting - Discharge Monitoring Report for water discharges+ Coordinate with plant process activities to ensure environmental compliance; and+ Interact with regulatory agency personnel, plant personnel, and local community representatives.

At this position I conducted numerous Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and established and maintained the storm water management activities at Newkirk Environmental, Inc. In addition to this experience, I worked with an affiliated partnership in developing and marketing state of the art software for storm water inspection management referred to as the Records and Inspection Network (RAIN) for storm water.

Coordinated and developed operations to assist the South Carolina Commercial Shrimping Industry in creating a value-added product through quality management and affiliation with the Certified Wild American Shrimp campaign. Played an active role on the "Mark of Quality" in developing standards of quality for the various levels of certification for Certified Wild American Shrimp.

Inspected major, conditional major and minor permitted air pollution sources across a multitude of industries. Responded to and addressed citizen complaints associated with open burning, fugitive emissions and general air quality concerns. Operated the district ambient air monitoring network throughout Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties. Participated in public outreach activities, regulatory enforcement initiatives, and compliance assistance projects.

Implemented and conducted research on new biological and engineering technologies for purposes of improving intensive fish culture in the Partitioned Aquaculture System, indoor recirculating systems and outdoor pond systems.

Assisted farm managers in culture and management of domestic sportfish for pond stocking within freshwater and saltwater intensive production facilities.
