Director Of Intranet Information SystemsEnron May 1997 - Apr 1999UsIn early 1997 Enron Corp. became one of many fortune 500 companies licensing the web-based software platform from Mr. Garner's company, Eunion Technologies. This platform, known as PRISM (People Resource Information System Management), provided seamless integration of HR and Payroll information across multiple systems via a secure web-based interface.Later that year Enron obtained an exclusive 10 yr software license and hired Mr. Garner as Director of Intranet Information Systems. Mr. Garner, and his team, began working with the M&A and Trading Groups to implement a real-time employee asset management solution into their global human resources strategy. This new solution would provide two-day delivery of employee screening plus integration of the data into the primary HR management solution. Another part of this project was the "EOD" payment cycle, this would provide delivery of payroll (and commission payments) to the Trading Dept. at the end of every trading day. These two initiatives enabled Enron to 1) on-board new hires into their Trading Dept. very quickly and 2) provide a compensation schedule that was second to none.Mr. Garner’s duties also included leading Enron’s “New Solutions Group”, providing strategic planning and technical advice to projects within the Enron Broadband division. These projects focused primarily on the distribution of broadband services to corporate retailers, and the analysis of broadband usage among public communities. These projects where the foundation of a new market referred to as the "Connected" or "Smart” home initiative. In 1999 Mr. Garner completed his obligations with Enron and continued in an advisory capacity while launching a new company focused on providing solutions for companies entering the connected community market. This company grew through partnerships with GE, Intel, Samsung, and others by melding enterprise communication strategies with the dynamic world of online social communities. -
Founder & System ArchitectEunion Technologies Aug 1994 - May 1997Eunion Technologies began as a boutique software development firm in 1993 focused on providing customized web-based solutions to companies large and small. Mr. Garner, along with several partners, developed these customized solutions and began to focus on creating systems that would make previously inaccessible information accessible over the internet in a secure format. The primary clients of Eunion Technologies were Oil & Gas, Real Estate, and Financial Services companies looking to understand the power of the Internet when applied to internal services, not just connectivity. While working with these clients Eunion began to develop a web-based platform aimed at freeing the common problem of “imprisoned data and software”. This platform quickly locked onto providing solutions aimed specifically at accessing HR data reporting via a secure website. In 1997 Eunion Technologies released a web-based intranet solution for the corporate enterprise geared solely to HR Employee Payroll services. A decision was made amongst the partners at Eunion Technologies to split the company in two, on side servicing custom application development and data management services, and the other half would focus solely on the new HR Systems strategy. Enron Corp became one of several companies using this product and quickly became the largest corporate user of the service.
