Mechanical Engineer Iv
Current(Started as Mechanical Engineer II and promoted twice to Mechanical Engineer III & IV)• Serve as mechanical lead on assigned projects during the entire product development cycle, from initial conceptualization to production.• Create 3D designs of parts and assemblies in CREO using solid, sheet metal, and surface modeling tools, with a Master Model technique.• Coordinate with model shop team for prototype creation using different processes (SLA, FDM, SLS, CNC, RTV molding).• Create 2D detailed drawings for all designed parts and assemblies.• In charge of documentation, and revision control, of all mechanical parts and overall product BOMs using Windchill. Manage pre-production transfers, official product releases (PR), and engineering changes (CR).• Work directly with Industrial Design incorporating their design intent and general aesthetics requirements into the mechanical design of products.• Work alongside tooling team providing 3D & 2D part design files for tooling mold flow analysis and quotes. Perform design changes as required per tooling team input, as allowed by part design intent and function. • Collaborate with factories and vendors to sort out manufacturing, assembling, and packaging challenges.• Work closely with Electrical Engineering team on electronic packaging products during the PCB layout stage and provide input regarding critical components’ structural support and/or heat dissipation concerns.• Work alongside safety team to meet required safety standards on each product, such as material selection for specific flammability ratings, testing load bearing supports for overhead devices, ingress protection, among others.• Hold design reviews on the mechanical design aspect of a product within a cross-functional team.• Work with Product Assurance team during the qualification stage of a product.• Performed FEA on specific projects regarding structural integrity of products.
