During that time, I was a key member of our leadership team and worked directly with our former VP of Renovations. Our software enabled us to scale from sub-$1M/year to $110M/yr run rate before the decision was made to shutter the Properties group at Redfin in late 2022.As part of the 2022 strategy cycle, I worked directly with our vendor operations team to identify how best to grow our vendor marketplace capabilities to support 10x our current scale. We were unable to execute against these plans due to market conditions.In addition to my Home Services responsibilities, during this time I directly led the effort to complete 50 isolated services. We successfully accomplished our goal of 50 services by Q3 2022 providing a new foundation for how software is built at Redfin.

At our peak we had over 1.5 monthly active users and delivered more than 3 billion push notifications.Boxcar was the first iOS app to deliver real-time push notifications for Gmail, Twitter and Facebook -- before any of their own native apps did! Slowly, Apple built our features piece by piece into iOS. In response, we created a marketplace for push notification subscriptions, a B2B2C play, to provide push notification services for various apps at a time when app developers didn’t have the infrastructure to create their own notification systems.This B2B2C pivot allowed us to build a sustainable business before being acquired in July 2012 by Kwaga, Inc. (TechCrunch acquisition article), providing a 4x return for our investors.
