I've spent as long as I can remember engrossed in Computer Science. Trying everything from Arduino to Web development has allowed me to broaden my horizons further than I could have thought possible, and develop skills that cross platform and subject boundaries. From taking part in Game Jams while at sixth form, to repurposing old server hardware to run modern OS versions so they had a better use than landfill, my extra curricular activities have helped me with my studies and in industry more than I realised at the time. This practice in so many areas of the field assisted me in my first relevant job as a web developer at Codesigned. I joined the team at Codesigned at the end of my first year of university, and the experience they offered me with programming, project managing and meeting with clients directly was invaluable in developing my soft and technical skills. I left Codesigned just before my year in industry started due to the opportunity ETAS offered me to see the more low level side of the field.I'm currently working at ETAS as a student Software Engineer as part of team developing the RTA-RTE product. Working here has allowed me to develop my skills while simultaneously deepening my understanding of C++ and C. I have also spent time working on automation for the company to try and minimise the amount of dead time developers can face while trying to install tooling.Additionally to the above industry experience, I also worked with Pugged Code Ltd as a Software Engineer to create a test harness for their latest product. This product is designed to prevent side-channel attacks on AES encryption from working so a test harness was created with a Chipwhisperer along with analysis code developed by me in Python to verify the products results. This was very successful and I plan to continue this work going forward.Some of the languages I have experience with so far are Python, Javascript, Java, C, C++, C#, React, React Native and Go but the most valuable skill these have given me is the ability to pick up new languages. Each time I try a new language I feel like I'm getting the chance to start my knowledge again, and the parallels each language shares help me to deepen my understanding of them all.
