Standardized how the Return Path data ingestion batch jobs processed data feeds from a suite ofindependent parsers to one spark-based parser. Allowed for greater maintainability and extensibility. This was an iterative process, first migrating older Perl-based processors to a newer Java-based processor, then eventually the new Scala / Spark based data ingestion system.• Architected and implemented the Scala based data parsing system to read aggregate data feeds as a series of Airflow orchestrated Spark jobs. Worked with product ownership to determine our S3 storage strategy for the parsed data files to be consumed by our data science team.
