As an SAP solution architect within the solution engagement organization, my role is to work with customers to clarify SAP’s Intelligent Enterprise strategy from a technical perspective. I help customers and sales account teams define enterprise adoptable solution architectures leveraging cloud, IoT, machine learning, data and analytics technologies. I assist implementation teams in defining proof-of-concept scope and architectures that verify agreed to capabilities and outcomes. Director Technical Sales, Software and Cloud Solutions within IBM Software group. This team focuses on software that is used for e-commerce, marketing and merchandising. James is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, business partners and IBM product development teams. He directly manages a team of software technical sellers that execute customer briefings, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, RFI responses and software deployment issue resolution.

Mr. Jamison is a Director, Chief Technology Officer and Distinguished Engineer within Global Business Services. He has responsibility for the successful execution of systems engineering, technical strategy and technical vitality with one of IBM’s largest integrated telecommunications account. He provides technical leadership to over 2,000 technical professionals located in the US, India and Brazil. Examples of James' contributions include:1. Tailored IBM’s SOA technical sales approaches, sales material and solutions for industry relevance that resulted in one year attainment of ~$200M (US) in sales for one sector with personal contributions of ~15% of those sales.2. Directed and led technical proposal development efforts for software based development solutions that included proposal development, customer presentations, Statements of Work and final negotiations that resulted in sales ranging in size from ~$10K - $10M (US) per contract.3. Enhanced, developed and introduced new methods and practices around Systems/Software Engineering and Automated Application Factories that helped organization achieve quality and schedule objectives with ~15% improvements year to year.

During this period, James managed and led technical teams ranging in size from five to over one hundred people that contained junior and senior level specialists, architects and project managers. He led requirements definitions and solution architecture definitions efforts. James was a key leader and practitioner in the use of IBM's Systems Engineering & Architecture disciplines on complex projects supporting both IBM internal business and IBM's external clients.

James began his career with IBM in January of 1996 as part of the Integrated Services Solutions Company (ISSC). ISSC is now known as Global Business Services. During this time, James was known as being a practical yet innovative technical leader in the adoption of several of IBM’s market leading capabilities including strategic outsourcing, e-business, Pervasive Computing, Asset Based Development, Systems Engineering and Service Oriented Architecture. In his role as a Solution Architect he has had overall technical responsibility for the success of solution construction, implementation and system integration for clients within the Communication and Industrial Sectors. He has worked with business and technical teams in the US, Canada, Mexico, India, Germany, Australia and Brazil.

James worked for Hughes Space and Communication Group in the area of satellite communication ground stations. During his time at Hughes he was awarded the prestigous Hughes Masters fellowship for his technical achievements and potential. As a Systems Engineer, James developed systems requirements, subsystem requirements, performed requirements management, architecture development, integration, test and installation of satellite ground control systems. He was responsible for preparing and presenting technical approaches at client design reviews and executing client acceptance test acceptance. In addition to his engineering roles, he was also responsible for business development and sales. In these roles, James developed technical responses to request for information and requests for proposals. Researched and identified opportunity areas that leveraged companies existing technology expertise to deliver solutions in new ways to clients.
