John has over 25 years as a policy and economics advisor working for both the public and private sectors across the energy, built environment and infrastructure sectors with a key focus on the transition to a low carbon economy. He has recently been assisting the Jakarta City Government on the development of a carbon budget that will address an ambitious programme of emission reductions across the Energy, Transportation, Buildings, Waste and AFOLU sectors. He has extensive high level policy experience from advising Ofgem, Octopus Energy, World Bank and other clients on key issues focussed on the transition to a low carbon electricity sector, competition and ensuring private sector investment. He has also advised on the policy, market, technology, social and physical climate risks and opportunities that impact on long-term value of investments such as office towers, airports and transport-oriented developments. At PwC he spent ten years advising on large-scale transport infrastructure projects across Europe and the reform of the utility sector in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, South East Asia and Australasia.
