My resume contains a list of my learned skills, as fresh as they may be in terms ofweb development, and the places I've studied, though most of that was a long timeago. What it can't contain are all the things I've come to learn as a person overmy 25 years in the workforce; namely my appreciation for community and unity ofpurpose in a company, or how I developed empathy for clients and customers andsought to find the best way to serve their needs. I believe firmly that a job shouldnot be simply "work" for the sake of earning a paycheck and living for the weekendbut that what one does for most of their waking life should be for a greater good,whether that be for the world-at-large, or for one's own sense of purpose. Granted,it's a lofty goal and I must recognize my great privilege to live in a society where I'meven given the choice to pursue meaningful work and financial comfort.What I'm ultimately looking for in a position is an environment in which I'm able tolearn constantly, contribute openly, feel proud of what I accomplish, and end mostdays feeling that I've done something of value. I'm seeking something creative andengaging and, while I don't need to feel as though I'm changing the world everyday, I'm simply looking for a place to do good for myself and those around me.What I can offer you, in addition to the bullet points on my resume, is an eager andearnest work ethic, a healthy thirst for learning, and an uncomplicated and inclusiveapproach to thriving in a team environment. I also tend to crack a lot of jokes andsometimes I send people personalized playlists of music I think they'd like.
