• Led business operations of a product management and technical sales support function at Ericsson in China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan• Led the CTO organization for the same region• Member of the region’s Quality Council that drove product quality and reliability improvements• Spearheaded a new product introduction governance framework which prepared the organization to market, sell, manufacture, deliver, and support new products• Developed the business process to claim tax refunds worth 14% of software sales in China• Championed the development of technical-, business-, and soft-skills assessments for 600+ staff to drive a culture of meritocracy• Changed the investment model for technology trials (USD 8-figure annual budget) to reduce cost by 23% while improving trial pass rates by 21%• Led a cross-functional team to prepare the organization to market, deliver, and support 4G TD-LTE. Program resulted in Ericsson being the first vendor to pass China large-scale field trials.

• Was site leader for Nortel’s Calgary campus, with 700+ staff in R&D, Operations, and Sales.• Led the CDMA Basestation Software R&D team to develop multiple releases, enabling Nortel to gain #2 global market share. Team of 200+ developers were located in Calgary, Guangzhou, and Ottawa.• Was Nortel’s lead on product quality and reliability for the Verizon Wireless account• Acted as overall R&D project manager for Nortel’s cost-reduced CDMA basestation which significantly improved gross margin over the previous generation product.• Continuously improved software quality resulting in the CEO Quality Award of Excellence in 2006.• Improved productivity 53% by transferring 100% of the software development from Canada to China. During transition, deliveries were maintained, quality improved as noted above, and employee satisfaction improved by 25%.• Wound-down the Calgary team as part of Nortel site consolidation. Helped out-place or move talent to Ottawa.
