My Professional JourneyToday I am proud to be known as The Yard Ramp Guy. This business represents the culmination of over 30 years of business experience and personal growth. With one exception, I've created every job I ever worked. I'm told my journey is a testament to creativity, opportunism, persistence and networking. Perhaps; but I attribute most of it to desperation and survival.I've worked directly in the following industries: Intercollegiate Athletics, Ad Specialties & Premiums, Theatre, Heating & Cooling, Desktop Publishing/Printing and Material Handling. I've served clientele spanning virtually every type of business and industry from government to consumer, from Fortune 100 to sole proprietors. Today, The Yard Ramp Guy works daily with customers in: manufacturing, recycling, agribusiness, building materials, construction, distribution and shipping, event planning, media production, and government.Now heading into the 4th quarter of my professional life, I look back and consider my specialty to have been an ability to help small companies to become bigger small companies. I've enjoyed rolling up my sleeves in the areas of Operational Process Improvement, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Strengthening Client, Vendor & Employee Relations, and Teaching-Coaching-Training-Mentoring.My Professional/Personal Passion:Over the years I found myself to be a "professional-in-transition" on several occasions. And I was blessed to receive the guidance, advice, support and coaching from so many wonderful people. Networking taught me a great deal. But mostly I discovered people are interesting. And they fascinate me. And I like to help where I can. I am particularly empathetic to professionals-in-transition. Yard ramps are generally 36 feet long, 7 feet wide and weight over 2 tons. They are mobile so they can be rolled up to the back of an 18-wheeler or butted up to a high-dock. Forklifts then drive up and down the ramp for faster, safer and more efficient loading and offloading. -
