A software house developing mail order and distribution software. John's role as system analyst and later as senior analyst included significant contributions to the standard Mailbrain package including refactoring the core modules, conversion of the package from Pick to Unidata and implementing a proper release strategy. John completed a module to charge.

A software house specialising in Fleet Management software which was developed for the Pick operating system / multi-value database. Clients included ambulance services, local government and the RAF. John joined as a trainee programmer and was initially part of the team developing the standard application. Subsequently he developed bespoke modifications.
